Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Valley

Start your journey at 08:00 from Marrakesh towards Ouarzazate, crossing the High Atlas mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka pass. Along the way, visit the Telouet Kasbah and the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. We will also pass through Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa. After driving 40 kilometers more, we will reach the palm groves of Skoura, then to Dades Gorge, where we will spend the night.

Day 2: Dades – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Desert

After having breakfast, we’ll drive along the Dades Valley, passing through the village of Tinghir. We’ll reach the Todra Gorge in time for y walk in the Dades Gorge if you’d like. Then, lunch. Afterwards, we’ll continue our journey on the desert road, heading towards Merzouga via Erfoud or Rissani. As we travel along a striking route that marks the transition to the desert, we’ll arrive at your wonderful Kasbah hotel located on the edge of the golden sand dunes. There, you can relax by the swimming pool. At night, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the desert.

Day 3: Explore Merzouga Desert – Erg Chebbi Dunes – Camel Ride & Camp

After breakfast, around 9 am, we will embark on a thrilling 4WD off-road tour around the dunes via the oasis of Merzouga. Our journey will take us to the nomadic depository and the Khamlia village, where we can visit the Gnawa’s village. The Gnawa people originally came from darker-skinned Africa as slaves, and we will have the opportunity to listen to their spiritual music, which is truly captivating. Continuing our adventure, we will meet desert nomads in their traditional tents, immersing ourselves in their way of life and gaining a new perspective. Not far away, there’s the beautiful Lake of Merzouga, home to various bird populations. We will then make our way back to your amazing Kasbah hotel located at the edge of the golden sand dunes, where you can relax by the swimming pool. You can leave any unnecessary luggage in the hotel’s safe rooms.

Later, we will embark on an unforgettable one and a half hour camel trek to a Berber camp nestled in the middle of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, the highest dunes in North Africa, reaching an impressive height of 820 feet. The camp consists of three comfortable Berber tents equipped with mattresses, linen, toilets, a restaurant, and a kitchen. As the evening sets in, we will have the opportunity to witness a mesmerizing show of shooting stars. Following the celestial spectacle, we will enjoy a delicious dinner followed by a captivating traditional music performance. We will spend the night in the nomad camp, sleeping in cozy tents, surrounded by the serene ambiance of the desert.

Day 4: Merzouga Desert – Ouarzazate

Start your day by waking up early to witness the breathtaking spectacle of the sunrise. Enjoy a warm cup of tea as you take in the beautiful moment. Afterward, we will ride back to the hotel on our camels. Once we reach the hotel, you will have time to freshen up with a refreshing shower and indulge in a well-deserved breakfast.

Our next destination is Ouarzazate, but this time we will take a different road that passes through Rissani. Along the way, we will pass through Alnif and N’kob, the capital village of the Berber Ait Atta tribe. We will stop for a delicious lunch at a traditional Kasbah, where you can enjoy an incredible panoramic view. Our journey continues through the Draa Valley, one of the largest valleys in Morocco known for its abundant palm trees. As we reach Agdz, we will be tracing the footsteps of the old caravan route that once connected Marrakech to Timbuktu. Finally, we will head to Ouarzazate, crossing the Tizi-n-Infinite pass, where you will have the opportunity to visit the film-making studios. This is a chance to delve into the rich history of the film-making industry in the renowned Hollywood of Africa.

Day 5: Ouarzazate Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, take some time to explore the charming town of Ouarzazate.
